K-12 Education

The K-12 Education Group of NCGE works with urban public school districts and community stakeholders to offer the Bardoli Global Scholars program—a 2-year, three summer global leadership experience for high potential students of color in grades 9-12. The program engages BG Scholars to make the critical “global/local” connection between their own communities and the rest of the world. Through a rigorous selection process a cohort of High School Scholars are elected from partner high schools throughout a given metropolitan region. Scholars spend Summer I in an intensive foreign language institute. During Summer II, Scholars and their school’s Teacher Leader attend an intensive Pre-Departure Institute followed by study abroad in over 30 traditional and non-traditional country destinations across the world. The cohort then undertakes a social entrepreneurship project to impact their local community and learn vital teamwork and management skills during our Global Leadership Academy. The program culminates with an internationally oriented Summer III internship for students in a nonprofit, corporate or government agency.
